Being a good sportsman is important as it relates to being a kingdom man. As we play different sports we find ourselves being super competitive, and we all want to win! No one wants to be a 'loser' or even team up with the least athletic person on the field. The goal of the game is to win and lift up that trophy in the end. It's that much harder to achieve that goal when playing with people who don't know the game much or don't have much experience with winning. The same can be said about being a kingdom man. How can we better ourselves as Christians if we don't surround ourselves with those who are on the right path and longing for God just like us. No true christian wants to be a 'loser' or someone who can't relate to the word of God for what life may throw at them. It's important that we be good sportsmen and share the word of God especially to those who may not know Him.
1 Corinthians 9:24-25
talks about how we should run our race or play our sports in a different way than the world. Rather than playing for a trophy that won't last forever, play for an even greater trophy that will never go away but that will always be there no matter what. A trophy that will last a lifetime and will always consider you a winner rather than a loser. That trophy is God.
